STAFF ACCOUNTANT

As an Accountant for EWTN News, you will play a crucial role in executing our financial operations by maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, analyzing data, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making. WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

• Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.

• Collaborate with managers to monitor and manage department budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.

• Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements, assist with external audits.

Qualifications:

• You have 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in not-for-profit environments, and a firm grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and best practices.

• You have operational experience with financial software systems and strong Excel knowledge.

• You have exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.

• Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• You hold a high level of integrity and prioritize ethical financial practices in all aspects of your work.

• You are a practicing Catholic with an affinity for EWTN’s mission. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Experience with not-for-profit accounting.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Management Reporter, and Concur. 

EDUCATION: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CPA certification or in the process of obtaining certification.
